Converting existing 12 pits and asphalt pitching areas
to 16 Pits with concrete walkways and Grass Sod.

NEW:Project Photos!
With pick-axes, shovels, and sledge hammers we:
- WORK COMPLETED
- *DONE: Removed all the asphalt.
- *DONE: Removed gravel/dirt mix down to 6" below pit level.
- *DONE: Leveled area for 16 courts.
- *DONE: Installed 3" drainage line with mud sieve.
- *DONE: Installed 8 new pit areas and added the clay.
- *DONE: Added Primary water service line and 5 wire low-
*DONE: voltage line to control up to 4 circuit watering valves.
- *DONE: Added bottom layer fine dirt.
- *DONE: installed first 8 concrete pitching courts.
- *DONE: 2x4 Forms for next 4 courts done!
- *DONE: Watering system: Geoflow/Netafim investigated
*DONE: but require backflush lines. Impossible to
*DONE: install with existing concrete areas.
*DONE: Final decision:3 controlled circuits 4/4/2
*DONE: heads with IC-20 surge/mist emitters.
- *DONE: need to complete concrete on remaining 8 courts.
- *DONE: sprinkler system main valves installed.
- *DONE: need 4 sections of distribution pipes installed.
- *DONE: sprinkler head placement/coverage drawing.
- *DONE: need topsoil and addional clean dirt fill. (20 Yards)
- *DONE: Complete checkout prior to tournament on 8/8 and 8/9.
- *DONE: Host of Correctional Officer's Horseshoe tournament 8/14-15.
- *DONE: Install 120V single phase 15 amp electical to shed.
- *DONE: Complete installation of surrounding fence.
- *DONE: Final installation and programming of water timer.
- *DONE: Install Grass Sod.
- REMAINING WORK
- Add quick coupler for water access at pit 16
Painted Foul lines (April 12, 1997)
A group of us showed up at the pits on Saturday and worked
from 9 AM to Noon. We got a tremendous amount of work done.
- Removed old pit covers
- Measured 40' and 30' foul lines
- Scraped off dirt and debris (And loose pavement) with wire brushes
- Lots of broom work.
- Painted foul lines using a taut string as a guide
