State Principle and Coat of Arm
Since its independence on August 17, 1945, Republic of Indonesia has already declared PANCASILA (Five State Principle) as its State Principle. Pancasila also acts as a way of life for all Indonesian nation.

PANCASILA (Eagle of Pancasila) is the Indonesia's Coat of Arm. It not only
shows national strength of Indonesia, but also symbolize important
matters :
The Republic
of Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world
, consisting of five main and 13,677 small island. It is situated betwen
Asia and Australia, stretching 5,110 kilometers from west to east, and
1,888 kilometers from north to south. The total areas is 5,193,250 square
kilometers with 39% land territoy and 61% sea territory.
Indonesia has a dry season from June to September and rainy season from
December to March. The annual mean temperatures for beach, inland and mountain
are 27 oC, 25 oC and 22 oC respectively. Precipitation diffres between
the regions, with more rainfall in mountain areas.
The Republic of Indonesia has a President as the highest executive. The President and Cabinet Ministers are vested with executive power. Indonesia is divided into 27 Provinces, each administered by a Governor. The provinces are subdivided into 241 Regencies, 55 Municipalities, 3,625 Sub districts and 67,033 Villages. Provinces, regencies are autonomous regions.
Based on Census 1990 , total population of Indonesia in 1990 is 179.3
million, estimated in 1993 is 189.1 million., with annual growth rate of
1.98% (1980-1990) . The Crude Birth Rate (CBR) is 2.9 per 1000 population
and the Crude Death Rate (CDR) is 25.3 per 1000 population (1990-1995),
and Total Fertility Rate (TFR) is 4.06 . About 90% population are moslem.
The other main religion is protestant, catholic, hindhuism and budhistism.
