Adult Training
Scoutmastership Fundamentals - Basic training for Adult Leaders.
Woodbadge - Often described as the PhD of Scouting for Scouters.  Check out www.woodbadge.org for more detailed information.
Continuing Education - There are many opportunities for additional traing.  Various councils run "Colleges" providing continued and up-to-date information.
Train-the Trainer - A great course for all those that do any type of training or teaching.

Youth Training
Scoutmaster's Junior Leader Training - A kit to help Scoutmaster's Train their junior leaders.
     Check your local council for youth training courses run on a council level.

Parent Training
     Let us not forget to train the parents.  By informing the parents, you may spark some interest and recruit additional leadership.  By training the parents, you also may help avoid some conflicts.  Training them will help the to know what to expect during their boy's scouting career.  At least, every new parent should be given a copy of the Fast Start Videos.

My Views
     I have found one of the best training sessions to be on the job.  I have attended both the Scoutmastership Fundamentals and Woodbage which have given me the "book" knowledge.  The real knowledge is gained when you attempt to put what you have learned to work.  You need to continue to be educated in Scouting and attend as many additional training sessions as possible.  A great way to continue your education is to serve on a training staff.
