| December 22, 1996 | EA Holiday Classic Tournament | East Allegheny Booster Association, East Allegheny High School. The Flames made it to the final 4 out of 12 teams. The Plum Cobras, a tough division 1 team, eliminated the Flames with a very tightly played 1-0 win. The Cobras went on to meet the Norwin Lasers in the tournament finals. The Lasers won the tournament by defeating the Cobras in the Championship game. Congratulations Lasers! |
| December 27, 1996 | Christmas Tournament | Monroeville Sports Center. This was a small tournament among 4 Division 1 teams, East Allegheny Flames, Woodland Hills, Penn Hills, and Penn Trafford. After the preliminary round robin, the teams finished as follows: Woodland Hills 2-1-0, East Allegheny 1-0-2, Penn Hills 0-1-2, and Penn Trafford 0-1-2. In the semi-finals, Penn Hills and EA tied 1-1, then Penn Hills eliminated EA in a shootout. Woodland Hills defeated Penn Trafford, then won the tournament by defeating Penn Hills. Congratulations, Woodland Hills. (EA handed WH their only defeat.) |
| February 15, 1997 | Foothills Tournament. University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg Campus | Flames defeat Terminators 3-0, lose to Scottdale 5-0, then tie Penn Trafford 1-1. Did not place. |
| February 22, 1997 | Burrell Tournament, Burrell High School | Flames def Plum Power 2-1, lose to Penn Hills Pythons 3-0, def Tri City 4-0. In the first round of the playoffs, Flames and Plum Cobras tie 2-2, then Plum wins the shootout to advance. Did not place. |
The East Allegheny Basherboard Tournament is held each March at the East Allegheny High School in North Versailles. The tournament is hosted by the East Allegheny Athletic Association. Many fine teams from communities in the Greater Pittsburgh participate each year. Tournaments are played each Saturday and Sunday in March for boys and girls from U-8 through U-17.
