The calendar says it's almost Summer, the weath is indicating otherwise. Does it really matter? As divers, we can agree on one thing - underwater it makes no difference. Just tell us where the site is and we'll load up our vehicles with dive gear and go, rain or shine. Divers, start your engines....

After a hectic Spring around P.S.C., the scheduled dive weekends offer some major R & R for those who have worked very hard these past months. Every dive charter filled to the max this Summer would be ideal. More people means more fun.

So, head down to the dark recesses of your basement to search out those missing pieces of diving and camping equipment that are an integral part of hitting the road in search of Ontario's major dive happenings.

There is quite a variety of dive destinations this year, Brockville, Bonne Terre Mine, Hagarsville, Cornwall just to name a few. I would like to thank Inga Sargent for her assistance in getting the charters set-up.

I would also at this time, like to thank Rob Sargent, who only for a short period of time was our Dive Director. Due to work constraints a very big trip planned for the end of the year, Rob has decided to step down from his position. We wish him all the best and we hope he really enjoys his new toy.

Underwater Canada was excellent this year, as always, and those of us who worked the show had a lot of fun. The opportunity to meet with Jean-Michel Cousteau was one I will never forget, especially watching him down at the pool. He is not only a man of great intelligence, but one with an incredible sense of humor as some of us found out at the Film Festival.

Treasure Hunt '97 is on June 21st & 22nd at Presqu'ile Provincial Park. Brochures with information have been handed out. If you did not receive one, please let me know and I will provide you with one. This weekend is ideal for kids and adults, no matter what the weather decides to do.

A new direction is being planned for the club in order to help our membership grow. Fund raising events are also in the works. If anyone is interested in lending hand, please see Ron Gaudet. You support would be greatly appreciated.
