Shadow Rings of Amber... It is rumored that there exists in shadow four items of unparalleled power. Their creation, an ambitious project undertaken by two women of distinct origins and separate world's. One, a master trump artist and talented shadow sorceress; the other, a Princess of Amber and pattern adept of significant skill. In an effort to combat a perceived mutual threat from the lands of Chaos, they purportedly conjured four rings of the elements, della natura, and imbued each with aspects of Amber's pattern and the artistry of trump. Preface: Though this goes without saying, the information provided here is for out of character use only. The purpose of this page is to assist those involved in the "Shadow Rings" tiny-plot (tp) by providing general story information and regular updates on plot progress.

FAQ: 1. Who are the coordinators for this tp? Coordinators for this tp are Yosannah and Lisle. They should be contacted on AmberMUSH via +mail with any ooc questions, comments or suggestions. 2. What is the premis of this tp? Shadow rings is an item-prop driven tp. However, we anticipate that the introduction of these items into play will encourage interaction between characters that might not, under normal circumstances, collaborate. 3. Was wizard approval sought for this tp? No. It is our belief that wizard approval is not needed. 4. What do these items do? The powers of the Shadow Rings can only be ascertained through role play. 5. Powers? Doesn't the AmberMUSH news say that an item can only perform a single use of a particular power? Yes. And in an effort to comply with the news on this particular issue, these items were made with multiple segments, each imbued with a distinct power. As such, each "ring" is made of multiple segments/items. Additionally, anyone that accepts a Shadow Ring for play purposes must have enough +declare slots available for each segment/item. 6. How will abuse of these items be handled by the coordinators? +Declare messages will be "entrusted" to players as they learn ring powers and, naturally, we expect that players will use good sense when role playing these items. However, "entrusted" messages may be revoked if the coordinators determine a player has abused the item's power. This includes not properly playing the item's flawed aspects. 7. How do I get one? A Shadow Ring may be acquired through role play only. That is, you may steal, plot, scheme, creep, rob, assault, lie and embezzle to get one. In fact, this sort of behavior is encouraged. No application is acquired - nor will one be considered. 8. What if I get a ring and I don't want to give it up? Can I pull consent? We expect that if you are participating in this plot, you are consenting and subjecting yourself to the fact that other characters may attempt to deprive you of your prize . If there are problems negotiating issues, please contact the coordinators. We will do our best to help mediate any issues you might encounter. 9. When will the tp begin? Preliminary scenes have finished between Lisle and Yosannah and the tp is in full swing! 10. Is there a point to all of this? Besides an opportunity for enjoyable role play and interaction with your fellow players? Of course there is! But enjoyable role play should remain the priority.

By all accounts they arrived quietly and with little fan-fair. The first to appear was an auburn haired sorceress who has oft been seen on school grounds. The second to arrive was a lovely and dignified, ashen blonde. They retired to the lounge and closed and locked the door behind them. Not thirty minutes later a pulse wave rocked through the Academy, shaking the foundations of the prestigious building. Guards rushed to the lounge and forced the door open. The women were gone. And the room remained in tact save for the gaping hole that marked where the large marble bar once stood. Obviously, a memento of some failed experiment. OOCly: Thus begins the "Shadow Rings" tp. The doors from the lounge were forced for a second time and hurricane winds swept down the moon corridor and dissipated into the great hall. But this time, the visitors were caught in the act. The students speak of a single item, a braided ring of great power bearing a single opaque stone. And in the final stages of its conception, the creator called out its name But what was it? Perhaps what's most important is that the instructor's lounge is now in shambles. And the marble bar still hasn't been repaired. Business as usual. No trace of the affair was left save for the mystical remnants that only those with certain sight could detect.
