Edmund and Edwin, with the latter's 8.2kg White-spotted Stingray (Dasyatidae fam). Only 3 live squid were netted that night, and Edwin was rewarded with his first taste of big fish action at Bedok Jetty using the effective bait.
3.2kg Barramundi (Lates calcarifer).
On a hot Sunday morning, a 3.8kg Queenfish (Scomberoides commersonianus) provides some excitement for a bleary-eyed me.
Quinton landed this beautiful 5.9kg Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) with his first cast of the night. A photo journalist, Mr. Yip Yau Mun passed by and snapped this great photo. Many thanks to him.
The second of 3 Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) landed within the space of 7 days, at 4.5kg.
A friend landed 3 of these Round-faced Batfish (Platax teira). He has a knack for them, with a secret recipe for the bait. While 3 were landed, he also lost another 2, making it an astonishing statistic!
After losing a suspected Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) the week before which ended in a straightened hook, this 5kg beauty was landed. It was not the only fishy tale of the night, with another angler having 3 hookups, but landed only one, which turned out to be a fellow 2.5kg Barra. It was a total of 4 hookups in a night, a record somewhat.
