Fun Speciality Deck #1

Format

This is the deck I used to take 3rd plce at QCA-Con '99 in the No event, No spells, and no psionics event. Obviously, it would only be really good in that format, but it worked pretty well. See what you think:

Contents

Dungeon: Might of the Blood Right (DU21) [I wants to use blood abilities, but didn't want to make it a pure BR deck]

    Rule Cards:
  1. Nobody Wins! (4/490)
  2. *Taxation (BRc18) [BTW, I am looking for another one!]
    Realms:
  1. The Battle-Fens (4/41) [Not as useful as in other tournies!]
  2. Black Spear Tribes (4/46) [Underrated, especially for long battles]
  3. Cariele (4/50)
  4. The Cities of the Sun (DU29) [In case the dungeon is toasted]
  5. Five Peaks (4/49)
  6. Forgotten Ruins (DU34) [For Fighting Dirty]
  7. The Gorgon's Crown (BR4) [Actually, not very good for this format]
  8. Menzoberranzan (3/2)
  9. Mistmoor (4/44)
  10. Mount Deismaar (DR9) [Didn't prove useful, as the only other player with blood abilities used the Torture Room]
  11. The Sphinx (4/43) [Actually minorly useful with no handmine traps!]
  12. The Spiderfell (BR3)
  13. UnderOerth (TU8) [Solely for Border Garrison]
  14. The Vampire's Realm (NS9)
    Holdings:
  1. The Celestial Jewel of Sarimie (4/100) [Really bad choice that was not supposed to be in there, as no cleric spells could be cast!]
  2. Points East Trading Guild (4/101)
    Champions:
  1. Arlando El-Adaba (R8,4/351) [Proved good with battle decks applenty]
  2. Chernevik (R8,4/327) [For Armor of High King]
  3. Cistern Fiend (M2,3/282) [Proved good to foil all the allies I saw]
  4. *Etherial Champion (H7,4/508)
  5. *Gib Kcir (H5,RRc16) [Too useful to lose!]
  6. Guildmaster (T10,NS28) [Didn't do much, but I never met a thief deck!]
  7. *Lernaean Hydra (M?,DRc7) [Immunities didn't help, but level was big]
  8. Living Scroll (M0,2/408)
  9. Living Wall (M10,PO58)
  10. *Lord Blacktree (H8,ARc7) [Had fun immitating opposing Dens of Thieves!]
  11. *Manshoon of the Zhentarim (W8,RRc6) [Good to give Armor or Herald]
  12. *Morcanth Dragontamer (H6,DRc4) [Proved to be huge, as I faced 2 dragon decks!]
  13. The Nobel Outlaw (R10,BR91)
  14. *Rhuobhe Manslayer (R8,BRc14) [Again, proved huge!]
    Artifacts:
  1. Herald of Mei Lung (NS54) [No Rings of All Seeing, Thank You!]
    Magic Items:
  1. Armor of the High King (BR27)
  2. Blamblower (DL56) [Yes, it's cheap, but with few counters, damn powerful!]
  3. *Dragonfont (ARc20) [Third time I've played with it, only one card ever drawn with it. Overrated unless you can keep it, which I never can!]
  4. Rod of 7 Parts, Part 7 (AR27)
  5. Sword of the High King (PO5) [Underused, fit deck beautifully!]
  6. Wand of Telekinesis (DL63) [VERY useful!]
    Allies:
  1. Ancient Dracolich (NS81)
  2. *Chimera (DRc13)
  3. Dreaded Ghost (4/246)
  4. Halfling Mercenaries (3/253) [I actually killed 5 attachements with this, all in one game! That was big!]
  5. Intellect Devourer (4/86) [Fun!]
  6. Kank Lancers (4/255) [Didn't do much, but expected people to play The Song of the Dragonlance, but no-one did!]
  7. Master Illithid (DU53)
  8. Skeletal Lord (4/217)
  9. Undead Dragonrider (DR81) [Practacally every deck seemed to carry this!]
    Blood Abilities:
  1. Battlewise (BR37)
  2. Create Minion (DU79)
  3. Death Field (DU81)
  4. Divine Wrath (BR39) [Big in this battle intensive format!]
  5. Touch of Decay (BR41) [Again, very useful without Handmine lurking]
    Unarmed Combat Cards:
  1. *Fighting Dirty (DUc3)
  2. Total Cards: 55 (plus Dungeon)

    Total Levels: 90

    Notes on Deck building

Obviously I built this deck with many battle cards. The format practically demanded that. And that was good! Also see notes with certain cards.

    Note on Standard Play

Do your best. Attack when you think you can win, and bluff when you don't. Not much more than that, aside from the typical avoid attention.
