Election Appeals Finally Completed
by Drakus Lightquill
Sigil, Outlands - After two months of appeals, the election of the first fully elected Sigil City Council held its first session without controversy.
The final appeal and recount to decide the ninth seat of the Council between Estavan of the Planar Trade Consortium and Zadara the titan was decided by a triumverant of Dabus judges last week.  The judges found that Zadara had rigged the vote tally when they found that the polling place closest to her office contained over half of the votes she gathered, more than all of the other 19 polling places.  This disqualified her from the election and Estavan was added to the Council for the ninth and final seat.
The appeals took so long for a reasons of constant recrimination between the two politicians regarding the votes.  Zadara is still unhappy with the results, as even with the votes from that polling place removed, she would have still been elected into the Council.  However, with not higher court available, it is doubtful she will find any recourse and return to the Council.
The entire council now consists of Arwyl Swan's Son (head of the Sons of Mercy), Cirily (vocal head of the Planarists), Estavan, Tarpish Fineberry (owner of Fineberry Wines), Adriann Goldenson (noted chief priest of the nearly complete Temple of Hades being built over the remains of the Shattered Temple), Mara Heartsinger (owner of the nearly rebuilt Jo-Anne's), Judge ?Wheelspoke? (Dabus head judge; name is in question from his personal symbol), Rhys Tiefling (ex-factol of the Transcendant Order), and Sylus Tzarkus (head of Hive Feeders Association).  This Council should be stable until elections in N.S. IV (previously Hashkar 134).

New Paper Surfaces to Brighten the Dark

by Drakus Lightquill
Sigil, Outlands - The new newsrag, the Torus Times publishes first paper, filling the gap left by previous papers.
With the loss of the S.I.G.I.S. years ago and the recent sudden disappearance of the Planescape Notes, Sigil found itself without reliable chant for those who get lagged.  Drakus Lightquill sensed and opportunity and started working to make the Torus Times to happen.  With the help of Ylem the Modron's recent developments in the area of a printing press, and the funding of Harys Hatchis, the Torus Times became a reality on the fifteenth day of the first month of New Sigil II.
In future months (as the Torus Times will be coming out the fifteenth of each month), Lightquill hopes to have interviews with each of the Sigil City Council and allow any who want to get the word out the opportunity.  For those who are interested in writing articles for this newspaper, the editor is looking for reporters for many reasons.  The job opportunities are available for anyone interested in the personals sections of the fine Torus Times.  We wish it the greatest of luck.
