To whom it may concern, I Kirk Hadley, am writing on behalf of saving Reed Gold Mine's student activity programs. On 4/17/02 all of Barringer Academic Center's(located:1500 Walton road Charlotte North Carolina 28208)4th grade students went to Reed Gold Mine in Harriburg, North Carolina.

The kids panned for gold, and a few found small flakes. This made them overexcited and want to pan again sometime.Other students from other schools want to go back, too. The kids also learned a lot on geology, from their tour guide. Our's, personally told us about the renevation of Reed Gold Mine. He was the one who told us the budget for Reed Gold mine was cut and asked us to write you theese leters. I, personally offered to post this on my website. So I did. I think that because this is a government location they should just drop the taxes on the building. Also they could just raise entrance fees. Also I think that the state senator should propose a law that makes all government owned state parks and/or attractions whose budgets have been proposed to be cut should be given 2 years without taxes to try to make up the debt.

To donate money mail it to 1500 Walton Road 28208 Charlotte North Carolina.
