Micheal Crichton 1942-

He was born in Chicago, Illinois October 23 1942, to proud parents: John and Zula Crichton. The oldest of four children, he was also the first on of them to have one of their many works published. The New York Times published an article from him when he was 14.

He was a star basketball player in high school and he graduated from Rosalyn Park High School, in 1960. He then decided to go to Harvard instead of continuing his athletic career. He also decided to study writing at Harvard. But, Harvard was very disheartening for the young writer so he decided to study anthropology and graduated from Harvard in 1965 (summa cum laude).

Then after giving a couple of lectures on anthropology at Cambridge University (England) and returning to the States, he started training to become a doctor, paying his way through Harvard Medical School, by writing different thrillers. Then he graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1969. During Crichton;s final year at medical schoolhe wrote Andromeda Strain.

Crichton then servered as a postdoctoral fellow at the Jonas Salk Institute for Biological Science(1969-1970)

Crichton is also the executive and director of the show ER. Which he actually created right after his days in medical school. In 1995, ER won eight emmys, and Crichton actually got one award, himself, from the Producers Guild of America, in the category of outstanding multi-episodic series.
