LITHA

(June 20-23)

Also Known As:

Midsummer
Summer Solstice
Alban Heflin

This Sabbat is celebrated on the longest day of the year.  The celebration is part of lights triumpf over darkness. It is called midsummer as well, because the Celts originally only had two seasons, Light and dark or Summer and Winter.
Litha is a cheerfull holiday.  Wiccans adorn themselves with colourfull flowers and bright attire.  It is also a celebration of much joy and feasting.  Litha is not celebrated by all branches of Wicca/Paganism.
In the past as well as today, bonfires are lit and once again, we jump over them to bring ourselves fertility and power.  Midsummer is a wonderfull time for Magick of all sorts!
