In many churches you my find imagies of the Black Madonna. These famous "Black Madonnas" of the Roman Catholic and Eastren Orthodox churches are statues of Isis with Heru converted to use as Mary and Jesus. SOme of these statues are missing that arm that carried Bast the Cat Goddess. The Christians didn't like using the statues of Isis with the baby girl. The priestess of Aset were known for thier erotic dance rituals. These were the forerunner or modern erotic dance and stripping.
There are many covens today devoted strictly to the worship of the Goddess Isis.
When in full cat form, she is renamed Bastet (pronounced Bashtet). Her oldest name is Pasch, this is where the English word passion comes from. She is an ancient Goddess with many attribute, and over time, more are added to her. Not all her attributes were believed in at the same time. Today, she is still evolving in attributes, however, apart from being the Goddess of Cats, she is also the Goddess of Civilization, which she shares with Isis.
