This 2safeschools Image Library Photo Release covers educational use of our images for the purpose of promoting school bus safety in the community and on the Web. The information you provide helps us compile demographic information to demonstrate our proper use of funding to maintain this free service.

Although James Kraemer and other photograhers retain All Rights to their images - the right to use without fee or royalty is extended as nonexclusive rights to schools, transportation providers, school bus drivers, state PTS, fire, law enforcement and govenment related industries, industry magazines and the press.

However, photos may not be commercially resold on CD or other media for profit without first obtaining permission from 2safeschools or the photo's owner. (One or two of Kramer's photos usually can be used as an example of his work and where a commercial website provides a link to 2safeschools.)

Acceptable use generally includes, school bus safety websites, a presenter's own slide show for training or education purposes, photos used in a school bus safety story or training manuals, city, state and federal agency school bus safety related brochures and manuals, school bus driver transportation manuals and school newsletters, transportation in-district made memos not sold for profit, in house made posters, training materials, letters to parents, press releases and the like. Also, local and the nation's press, such as newspapers, magazines and television stations may use our photos without charge.

Permission to use our works without charge usually extends to book authors and author's of magazine, newspaper articles and other commercial publications when permission to use is requested and approved. Please indicate what photos are to be used and the tiltle of the book or article.

  • By: You must attribute the work to the Photo's author. All photos where the 2safeschools Logo or photo owners name is not clearly visible must include a by-line caption: "Photo Courtesy 2safeschools.org All Rights Reserved," or "Courtesy 2safeschools.org Photo Library, Used by permission" or similar attribute. Credit is sometimes more appropriate in an 'inside cover reference' or reference index. This is acceptable in these cases.

  • Noncommercial Use: You may not use this work for commercial purposes without first obtaining an agreement from 2safeschools or the photo's owner.

  • Derivative Works:You may use our works in a drived format, such as background to a school bus safety public service advertisment and the like. This use, if it sufficiantly protects the image from editing, reuse and alteration, does not require a by-line where this would interfer with the message. Where possible in these cases a by-line should still be discreetly noted somewhaere in the border of the Ad. Very small type is acceptable.
