Acupuncture is a form of Chinese Medicine which is based on the balance of yin and yang in the human body and any illness is seen as a disruption of this balance.  Certain points of the body which are located along the "meridian lines" are needled to ease aches, pains, tension and fatigue.  Ideally, this system is used to maintain health, vitality and stamina, as well as strengthen the internal organs and prevent energy blockage.

Health is balance.  We get sick because our bodies are out of balance.  Life energy flows through our body along the meridians that sometimes gets blocked and causes illness.  Acupuncture stimulates the flow of energy and helps release blockages and restores balance.  Acupuncture actually increases the amount of endorphins, the body's own feel-good chemicals, and helps regulate other chemicals and hormones in the body thereby boosting the immune system.

Acupuncture therapy is a scientific technique carried out by a qualified therapist, which alleviates aches and pains, relieves muscle spasms, improves circulation in every part of the body, relaxes, stimulates and eases mental and physical tension.  It also increases the levels of hemoglobin or red blood cells, restores balance, regulates nerve activity to quiet and soothe the nervous system, breaking the stress cycle, stimulates blood flow and helps throw off accumulated poisons, stimulates lymphatic circulation, secretory and glandular function, stimulates and normalizes organs of digestion.
