G. YASHWANT
A warm welcome to my web space.

I am a Post Doctoral visiting Fellow in the Department of Nuclear and Atomic Physics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. I graduated in Physics from Mumbai University in 1999. Got my masters degree with Solid State Physics as main subject in 2001 from Mumbai University. And submitted my Ph.D. Thesis to Mumbai university in 2008.

Presently I am mainly invovled in the refurbishment of an old Dialution refrigerator. The main aim is to use it as a cryogenic bolometer for the double beta decay experiment.

My Ph.D. thesis mainly invovles work in the field of Superconductivity and Magnetism. Magnetization studies (SQUID) on variety of materials like Dilute magnetic semiconductors, Nickle, Cobalt and Lead nanoparticles was the main focus of my thesis. Making of low temperature experimental setup for resistivity study was also part of my thesis. During this course I automated transport measurements on the 16T OXFORD instrument's cryomagnetic system using LABVIEW package. Sputter deposition of magnetic and superconducting materials has been major acitvity in the last one and half year. I will say more about my work in the RESEARCH section.
