Ground Control is the official website of award-winning Canadian actor Tom McCamus. Tom is a past winner of the most prestigious award in Canadian film - the Genie for Best Actor (I Love a Man In Uniform) - and the most prestigious award in Canadian theatre - the Dora Mavor Moore award for Best Actor (Abundance).
Tom is a member of the famous Stratford and Shaw Festivals in Ontario, Canada. With them, and a number of other companies, he has performed in a diverse range of roles, including Hamlet, Peter Pan, Richard III, Mack The Knife, and Edmund Tyrone, a role which he replicated in David Wellington's critically acclaimed film A Long Day's Journey Into Night.
Tom has been nominated for the Genie Award three times to date, for I Love A Man In Uniform, A Long Day's Journey Into Night, and the Oscar-nominated The Sweet Hereafter. Recently he has appeared in a number of Canadian films as well as the smash-hit teen movie Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Tom's next film will be Waking Up Wally, portraying the father of Canadian ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.
To television audiences, Tom is most recognisable for his acclaimed role as villain Mason Eckhart in the cult science-fiction series Mutant X. Currently, he has a recurring role in The Eleventh Hour as the imaginatively named Linus Goslings.
