By Winnie Au, Lic. Acupuncturist

  1. Place the medical herbs with 3 ½, 4, or 5 cups of water into a tall (ceramic, glass, or stainless steel) container. Make sure the water covers up all the herbs.

  2.

  3. Cover the lid. Bring water to a rolling boil. Then, turn down the fire to a low simmer.

  4.

  5. Simmer the herbs about 45 to 60, or 90 minutes until the tea is about 1 cup.

  6.

  7. Strain. Drink it warm.

   Helpful tips:

It is better to drink the herb tea one-hour before eating, on an empty stomach.

If the tea cause a little stomach upset, drink it an hour after eating.

You may divide the tea into 2 portions. Two times daily.

If the herbs boil dry, discard them.

Consultation is needed for a new prescription.
