Chapter Nine

Returned (Part B)

“ Protectors…” Umi muttered in pain as laid on the cool grass, breaking into a cold sweat, “ please…hurry…before it too late.”

“ You guys, I’m so glad you’re safe,” Tea said through her tears of joy, “ come on Tea, don’t cry,” Melanie said as she put her hand on Tea’s shoulder. “ I’m just glad you’re back,” she said as she covered her face with her hands. “ Well, we’re happy to back too,” Claire said happily as she looked around, “ right Kathy?” Claire looked behind to Kathy, but she wasn’t paying attention. She was looking into space, her hair and outfit blowing lightly in the wind. “ Kathy?” Claire said, Kathy heard her name and turned around, “ oh, yeah, great to be back,” she laughed. “ You okay?” Melanie asked, Kathy turned her whole body around and smiled, “ yeah, I’m fine, its just…” she started to say as she crossed her hands, “ what?” Kaiba asked, Kathy looked up at him and smiled, “ oh nothing, I’m just tired.”

“ Yeah, I think we all are,” Melanie said happily, “ let’s get some sleep and talk about this in the morning.” “ Yeah,” everyone agreed, “ Kaiba,” Kathy said, Kaiba turned around to look at her, “ is it okay if I stay at your place?” she asked with hope in her voice, Kaiba her a sweet smile, “ yeah.” “ Okay, we’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Claire said as she and Joey walked away.

“ Feeling any better?” Bakura said to Melanie, “ a little, but I think I still have some tense muscles, “ oh here,” Bakura said as he put his hands on her shoulders and started to give her a massage. “ That okay?” Bakura whispered softly in her ear, Melanie gave out a little moan that meant yes, she closed her eyes softly. “ Bakura…” she muttered, “ yeah,” Bakura replied, still massaging her shoulders. “ Thank you,” she said, “ for what? The massage,” she asked, she gave a small giggle, “ that and for waiting for me.” Bakura stopped massaging her shoulders, he then wrapped his arms around her, “ you know I would wait forever for you,” he said softly as he took in her sweet smell. He then softly kissed her cheek and cuddled more into her.

Melanie then turned around and looked at him with warmth and love in her eyes, yet they were all watery. “ Oh Bakura!” She exclaimed as she dug her face into his shirt, “ I thought I would never see you again,” she said through her sobs. Bakura hushed her as he rocked her back and forth, “ its okay,” he whispered, “ but…” she started to say until Bakura quickly brought his lips to hers. Melanie let out a low moan as she wrapped her arms around his neck; Bakura swept her off her feet and carried her to his room.

Over at Joey’s house, he and Claire were asleep, cuddling into each other’s arms. Their clothes were all creased and their hair was a mess.

Pharaoh Umi…Kathy thought in her head. She was sitting on her bed in meditation, she thought since she was psychic, she might be able to accomplish finding Umi by using them. Where are you? She thought, then something flashed in front of her in her head; Kathy gave out a gasp. She now found herself in a beautiful garden, she could smell the sweet smell of each flower, “ where am I?” she said, she gave out another gasp, “ I’m not saying it in my head anymore,” she muttered to herself. She lifted her head as she heard something coming from behind one of the trees; she slowly walked over to the tree and looked to see who it was.

There was then a knock on her door; Kathy opened her eyes in shock. The door slowly opened, Kathy then saw Kaiba, “ hey Kathy,” Kaiba muttered. He looked at her; he was wondering why she looked so scared, “ what’s wrong?” Kathy blinked and gave him a sweet smile, “ oh its nothin’, I’m just thinking about something, she then looked down at her feet, that person… she thought.

*FLASHBACK*

As Kathy looked behind the tree, she saw someone sitting at the edge of a glistening lake, panting and trying breath. It appeared to be a woman, she looked to be about her age, she had blonde hair and was wearing a white dress. “ Excuse me,” Kathy said softly, the girl gave a small gasp and turned around. Kathy’s eyes widened in shock at who it was.

* END OF FLASHBACK*

“ Kathy…Kathy,” a distant voice, she looked up to see Kaiba crouched over to her, his hands tightly grabbing her upper arms. “ Are you okay?” he demanded, Kathy gave him a smile, “ yeah…I’m fine,” she stuttered. “ You keep spacing out, maybe you should stay in my room with me,” he said; Kathy blushed crimson red, “ NO! Really, I’m fine Kaiba,” she exclaimed as she tried to pull back. “ No way, you’re staying in my room and that’s final,” he demanded as he scooped her up. “ Hey what are you doing, put me down,” she demanded, her face still red. “ No,” Kaiba growled, “ put me down,” she exclaimed as she tried to get out of his grip.

“ Ok, you can have the bed,” Kaiba said as he sat on the couch at the end of the bed, “ I’ll sleep here,” he finished. “ No way, if anyone’s laying on the couch, it’ll be me,” Kathy exclaimed. “ No, you can have the bed,” Kaiba growled, “ no, I’ll take the couch,” she replied coldly. They both gave each other deadly glares as they growled, “ oh fine, I’ll take the bed,” Kathy whined as she sat at the edge of the bed. “ Good,” Kaiba muttered as he fell onto the couch, “ and don’t try sleeping on the floor, I’ll just but you back on the bed,” Kaiba growled. Kathy gave him a nasty look before she turned off the lights. Kathy had a hard time falling asleep. She felt bad about making Kaiba sleep on the couch; it was his bed after all. If he cant sleep in a bed, then neither will I, she demanded in her head as she crawled out of bed and fell asleep on the floor.

Kaiba a little later woke up from a bad dream, he dreamt that Kathy was taken again by Malik and then said she didn’t love him anymore because he didn’t try to save her. It was a just a bad dream, he thought as he looked over to the bed; his eyes widening as he looked to see she wasn’t there. “ What the…” he started to say until he looked over to the bottom of the bed, seeing Kathy was asleep on the floor. Damn, I told not to sleep on the floor, Kaiba growled on his head as he pushed himself off the couch and scooped up Kathy from the ground. As he softly laid Kathy on the bed (trying not to wake her up), he heard her give out a small, painful moan; he then saw her lips move as if trying to say something, Kaiba had to lean down to her to hear what she was saying. “ Kaiba…” she muttered softly, Kaiba then blushed crimson red; though Kaiba tried to hold his emotions, he softly started caressing Kathy’s cheek. Kathy then gave out another little moan and then slowly brought her lips to Kaiba’s (Kathy’s still asleep).

Kaiba’s eyes widened with shock, he wanted to pull away from her, but he couldn’t. Kathy let out a small moan from her throat, slowly moving her arms around his neck, pulling him in more so that he fell on top of her. Kathy then flinched and slowly opened her eyes; as she opened them, she saw that she was kissing Kaiba again. Kathy then pulled away from him, “ Kaiba, I’m so sorry, I…I didn’t mean…” she tried to explain until she noticed something different about Kaiba, his eyes were still deep blue, but they shined with love and passion. He then started to softly stroke her cheek and shook his head with a very rare smile on his face. “ No, its all right Katherine, I really needed that,” he chuckled, Kathy’s eyes then widened more then they already were, did he just say what I think he said? Kathy exclaimed in her head. But her thoughts were interrupted when she heard Kaiba call her name, “ Kathy,” he said softly, in a way Kathy had never seen him act, “ yeah,” she muttered, a chill went up her spine.

“ Just relax,” he said soothingly as he closed his eyes and a passionate smile spread across his face, Kathy’s face going all red, getting dizzy from his hot breath near her skin. “ Kaiba…” she started to say until Kaiba started to purr; he then grabbed her wrist to press his body against hers and pressed his lips to hers. Kathy felt like she was melting, she couldn’t believe was actually doing this; does this mean he feels the same, Kathy thought as her body started to tense up. Kaiba felt her body tense up against his, but he didn’t really care, he needed her so much, she was the only one who really cared for him. Kaiba then felt Kathy trying to pull away, but he wasn’t going to stop kissing her now. “ In told you to relax,” he said seductively as he slowly moved his hand up her body, but before Kathy could reply, Kaiba pressed his lips against hers again. Kathy gave out a little moan, she couldn’t help it, Kaiba wouldn’t do this to her if he didn’t love her, so she finally loosened up and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. “ Katherine…” Kathy heard Kaiba mutter, she then opened her eyes to look at him, “ I love you,” he whispered softly in her ear, “ I’m not letting you go.” “ Kathy then gave out a little giggle, “ I don’t want to.”

It was morning; the sun started to slowly rise into the sky. A small ray of sunlight came in through the shades of Kaiba’s room, hitting Kathy right in the eyes. No matter how much she wanted to ignore it, she just couldn’t, waking her up from a dream; she slowly turns to lie on her back. She slowly started to open her eyes to see the room filled with light, she then dug her fingers into her hair to get it out of her face; was that a dream? Me…and Kaiba…she thought, but she was interrupted from her thoughts at the sound of someone’s voice. “ Good morning,” a deep voice said, Kathy jumped a bit and turned her head; there laying right next to her was Kaiba, his shirt was gone, showing his strong upper body; he was just smiling at Kathy as he watched her with interest. “ Kaiba,” Kathy muttered, “ sleep well?” Kaiba was sweetly as he started to stroke her cheek, “ yeah…but, Kaiba was last night a dream or was it real?” she asked hopefully. Kaiba laughed inside his throat as he brushed the excess hair out of her face; “ does it look like it was?” Kathy gave out a big sigh of relief, she then gave him a sweet smile, “ I’m glad it wasn’t,” she said softly; Kaiba leaned in and smiled passionately at her, “ me too,” he whispered to her as he then kissed her.

“ Kaiba…” Kathy muttered as she pulled slightly away from him, Kaiba gave out a low growl meaning he was listening, “ I think that we should keep this a secret,” she said sternly, Kaiba then opened his eyes to look at her, “ why?” Kathy then started to stroke his face with her small hand, “ because if anyone found out, you might be in danger, and if anything were to happen to you I would die.” Kaiba just looked at her, she made sense, if this got out that they were together, one of his enemies might come after her, and he couldn’t let that happen. “ Okay, if you want that,” he laughed, Kathy gave him a passionate smile, “ thank you Seto.” Seto? Kaiba thought, the only person who ever called him that was his brother Mokuba (he’s at boarding school), I like the sound of that when she says it, he smiled at her, then leaning into her to kiss her again.

Pharaoh Umi…Yami thought as he looked into the sky, where are you…how do I help you? “ Hey Yami?” Yami looked to see Yugi sitting on his bed, staring at the somewhat transparent pharaoh, “ you okay?” Yami gave him a weak smile, “ yeah, fine.” He then turned to look out again, Umi… Yami gave a look of determination; I will find you, no matter what.

“ Yami…please…help,” Umi cried before she fainted.
