new04.gif (1556 bytes)Hello!

I'm back :P

How's everybody going now?

I have passed the child psychiatry board last year and my first professional article was accepted by a local medical journal one month ago, which has made me very very excited.  I do feel very lucky to win the chance of promotion from my current position because the accepted article makes me qualified for it.  Now I can do something more meaningful and important in my career without worrying for being fired in July.

Meanwhile, I am studying epidemiology in a graduate school in Taiwan.  I hope I can do research better after this training.

However, to reach adequate physical and mental well-being is the most important task to me.  I hope I can keep a better condition myself without letting my significant others worried.

Hope you enjoy your life every day!

Hi there,

How's everybody recently?

I am now working as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in a medical center in Northern Taiwan.  The reason I choose this field is that I found the mental health resources for children and adolescents are very limited in this country, compared with those in western countries.  Maybe I could do something for the kids and their families who are suffering from any kind of mental problem, and also try to prevent those who have higher risks in developing further mental disorders.  I found this job very meaningful.

I am planning to add more context about mental health in the near future.  Please come back later for the updated pages.

Best regards!

Hello everybody,

    How are you today?

I believe, many people in east Asia are now worried about the "SARS" every day.  It is around us now and we cannot deny it anymore.  Everyone wears a face mask when going out and that seems to be the basic daily personal equipment during the past weeks.  We never know when the SARS would stop threatening our lives.  Especially, I am working in a hospital.  My colleagues and I are very careful about our personal hygiene, since we are encountering many people every day, without knowing much about their exact health conditions in the beginning.

As a psychiatric resident (doctor in training), I especially concern about the mental health of anyone who are facing the threat brought by SARS.  Except the SARS patients (including probable and suspect cases), those who are taking care of them (we can call them "the SARS team") are suffering from the most threat to get further infection.  They need much support--what ever kind--from others.

Every day I would visit several patients who need psychiatric consultation in other department of the hospital, and I am also under the threat of SARS.  I wear a N95 mask whenever I am in the hospital, and wash my hands every time before and after I see a patient.  Although I am not directly taking care of the SARS patients (maybe in the future I will be asked to do so), I will take good care of myself and reassure my dear family and friends that I am safe and careful.

Hello!
It has been quite a long time since I renewed this page last time.
How's everybody doing now?
Well, as you might have known,  I am currently an intern doctor in the hospital.  The life here is quite stressful(!) but also colorful(?).  So far I have finished my rotation in departments of rehabilitation medicine, ophthalmology, nuclear medicine, psychiatry, emergency medicine, E.N.T(ear, nose, thraot), and I'm now in the surgical department.  Also, I have on-call duties, at most 10 nights in every month.  Being a doctor is totally different from being a medical student.  The interaction between people(me and patients, patients' families and of course, other staff) becomes the most basic and important part of my daily life.  I enjoy the work although sometimes it is really tiring and trivial.  And finally I need to make a decision soon about what kind of specialist I want to be in the future.  I have ever considered about not only the surgeon, the pediatrician in the past, but also the psychiatrist, recently.  In my opinion, psychiatry is very practical in our daily lives and also interesting to me; so I made up my mind to be a psychiatrist at last.

By the way, I go to a gymnesium regularly since I became an intern Doc., and I found it's really wonderful to keep this habit.  I become more energetic and happier than before.   I also lose some weight after I start doing some exercise.  Living healthily is the best present I brought to myself !!

Hope you are also healthy and enjoy your life a lot !

Hi! How are you today?

Well, I have been to the North America (USA/CANADA) again during my winter vacation (1998/12/21 ~ 1999/01/07).  My friend and I visited our friends who are currently studying in USA.  We also met some friends of them there and had a great time during our stay.  We visited several cities such as Rochester (NY), New York city, Toronto, Niagara falls, and Boston.   It's really freezing----if I never visit there during the winter season, I'll never know how cold it could be and how people could live under such hard circumstances.   I'll never forget the beautiful scene during the X'mas season, and I am really impressed by the experience of driving in the big snow storm, and the excitement of seeing so much snow outside....It's a sweet memory and I do cherish the time when I can travel around....

I am going to be an intern doctor in June, 1999.  Before that, I want to enjoy my life as much as possible!!

Take care!

Hello! How's everybody doing? I've just finished a 45-day-trip to USA and Canada. I went there with 2 other girls and we did spend a very good time there. It is really exciting for me to go backpacking (as a foreign independent traveler), I almost got addicted to it...you know. That was the second time and my first time was when we were in Germany during last summer vacation.  I think traveling can make people grown up and learned more about how other people's lives could be. I also feel relaxed and think more about something that I had no idea before....Just want to tell you that traveling is really great and I hope I can have more chances to go abroad in the future, because I know I won't have so much time like now...(You know, being a clinical doctor would not be allowed to have many holidays.)

Hi!  How were you doing recently?

I am now in my clerkship of my medical school years in Chang-Gung memorial Hospital and so far I am quite interested in learning medicine....^_^ I hope I can be a surgeon or a pediatrician in the future, but I'm not very sure what I'll be then.  I think I need more time to explore my interest, more clinical experiences, and more suggestions from others who are already in their professions to help me decide what to do.  I have a wide spectrum of interests and I like to learn something new.  I also like to make friends with others to share our own life experiences with one another.  Making homepage is one of my new interest and I hope I can share something with you within this little field...
