Young people are opposing the EU!

More and more young people are becoming opposed to the European Union (EU) as they realise the implications of EU policies.

The young student is becoming aware of the results of EU sponsered spending cuts because of the proposed EU single currency on his grant and funding for schools; the young environmentalist is noticing the EU sponsored roads such as the Newbury By-Pass and the destructive effects of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy on the environment of the British countryside and the Third world; young people concerned with the welfare of animals are noticing the inability of Britain to ban live animal exports because of EU law and the general lack of concern for animal welfare shown by the EU; and the young person looking for a job is noticing the EU created mass-unemployment and the destruction of Britain's industrial base caused by Britain's membership of the EU.

More and more people are waking up to the destructive effects of the EU: isn't it about time you did so too?

Young people are becoming concerned with democracy, the environment, local and global welfare, and national independence and therefore oppose the EU, which they believe damages the social, economic and political well-being of young people in Britain and around the world. They campaign against further integration into a European union and to restore to Britain the right to self-determination and national democracy.

Their primary role is to persuade young people that integration in a European union is not in their interests. They inform them of the nature and policies of the EU, and encourouge them to join campaigns against the EU. They inform young people of the alternatives to the destructive policies of the EU, preffering free and equal co-operation between nations, and believing that political independence is the best way for Britain to play her full part in contributing to the world's security and protecting the world's environment. Young people have the most to lose from European integration, and the most to gain from national independence!

Great importance on international co-operation with other democratic groups opposed to the EU, both in Britain and across the continent of Europe, particularly anti-EU youth movements abroad.
