David's Antique Radio Room

Notes:

General Electric model C-415. This radio is a real find. It is in near mint condition with only a few light scratches on the case. When I purchased this set, it still had all five factory original GE tubes installed, and all tubes tested at 90% or better. The inside of the radio is very clean and dust free, so this GE C-415 obviously hasn't had much use over the years.
Unfortunately, the radio's lack of use resulted in dried out filter capacitors, which created a loud AC hum after I had used the set for a few months. My C-415 was recently serviced by Scott Rhode at Midwest Antique Radio Service (shameless plug) and now plays beautifully. The back of the set has a timed AC outlet where you can plug in a coffee maker and start a pot brewing when the radio's alarm goes off in the morning. Just the set for listening to Sinatra in true 1950's style!
