Thanks for taking a look
I have a 6 year old Tappan dishwasher. Model TDB662RBR0 Serial # TH52399330 the appliance model plate also says Frigidaire Co. Dublin OH. The unit was purchased from Wards. This is a parts diagram for it.
I needed # 11 Water Seal / # 20 Water Shield / #21 Motor also need the shear pin or key that fits on motor shaft and in the impeller (part #10)
The Impeller (10) does not appear worn, and is not viably damaged in any way. And the Motor seal (#12) does not shown and signs of leaking.
The water seal part #11 was leaking and the motor was freezing up. The seal was replaced about a year ago and worked find for about nine months. Then the unit begain to leak slightly again, and the motor was making a grinding noise . Spraying WD40 or Lithium Grease on the top motor bearing use to allow unit to operate quietly for a month or more. The top bearing on the motor is now in pieces, and I suspect this bearing caused the water seal #11 to wear and crack within the year.
I am very disapointed in the unit's design. The origianal motor should be made to alow access to the bearing for relubercation, and is just a poor weak design . I took this origianal motor apart and it does NOT have ball bearings! Just machined steel floating on a film of oil from a wick,.
Repaired!!! I got the required parts from Appliance Parts Center Raynham, Ma. and repaired the unit for about $90. The motor they sent is an Emerson and is bolted together so if it ever needs lubercation i sould be able to disassemble it. I am very pleased with the service at www.apconline.com |
