Who am I?

I am no one.

On the outside I may appear to be:

  • Aaron Ortiz, my name,
  • a Christian, my convictions,
  • the leader of a small group of Christian friends, my passion,
  • a 24 year old young man, my age,
  • a Honduran, my nationality,
  • a Computer Scientist with a Bachelors Degree, my training,
  • a musician, my natural ability,

Ask those who know me.

But in order to find out who I am, you need to ask those who know me.

"Who am I?" is not an objective question

It contains the hidden assumption that each of us is someone independently of everyone and everything else. None of us is.

Otherwise one would not really be saying, "Who am I?" but "Who do I think I am?"

What role does one play in others' lives? God, our families, our coworkers, our fellow believers, our friends, you and I all define who we are differently. How do we know who's right?

In the practical world, to define who each of us is, we either imagine who we are to people around us or better, ask them.

God, who am I to you?

GOD: Aaron, you are my creation, my son, and my ambassador. I have forgiven all your sins, cleaned your spirit and called you. Therefore you are my saint, you are set apart from the rest. You are my friend, my servant, and my work of art.

Who are you to God?
