Why Modify?

This is a question that comes up quite often, so I decided I would throw it on here. Well, to be honest my car is about 99% stock. The reason being that in my current point in life it would be a very unwise decision to dump money into my car, although I do wish to. Before modifying a car people need to know that you will not get your money back in any way. Also, in many cases, each modification done to a vehicle lowers the vehicles reliability. And when aftermarket products break, they can and often do cost more than the OEM parts. The other side is that often the aftermarket products are designed better, are more efficient and last longer. There is a level pure pleasure a true gear head gets from working and improving his or her car. Many enthusiasts do it just to make the car unique sometimes, to stand out.
