Avril. Lavigne. Ok, can you say poser? If I had to chose one word to describe that sorry excuse for a singer, poser would be it. She is just a poster child for Hot Topic, with her ties and spikes. She says that she doesnt follow any trends, and that she is just being herself, but she IS a trend. She is just letting her record label exploit the punk image, and cash in on it. Now, I do have other reasons for complaining about her. She is constantly contradicting herself. In one of YM's recent issues, Avril describes herself as a: "skater-punk", and she was instantly barraded with comments like: "YOU ARE NOT PUNK!" She followed up the statements with: "Come on, dude, I never said I was punk." Yea, nice choice of words. Avril is too absorbed in her own image. She spends too much time trying to get kicked out of restraunts and insulting other singers, that she doesnt even have enough time to compose some decent songs. Sk8ter Boi. What is this grammaticaly-incorrect song about, you ask? Guy meets girl. Girl rejects guy. Guy becomes star. Guy meets Avril. They live happily ever after. I mean, come on! My sister can come up with better lyrics then that! I kid you not. Following up with Avril saying she is not fake, I am providing you with another reason as to why she IS fake. Have you seen her without make up? After seeing that obviously horrid picture of Avril Lavigne without makeup (above), you have to question how real Avril can be if she cakes make up on her face, yet claims she is not at all into anything girly. (If you dont know what Avril looks like with her usual make up on, sucks for you cause I dont feel like linking another pic, so just go to her official site or something, but plug your ears. Yes, Avril can say she's punk, and she can brainwash all you kiddies into believing so, but have you listened to her music? It's about as pop as Britney Spears! Her voice is just altered, and made more tech-y, just like Brit's. Alright, so I guess she is a punk that sings pop. Oh yea. That makes a hell of a lot of sense. She claims to play the guitar. She seems to get away with this statement, also. If you have ever seen her preform live (which I have had the unfortunate experience of doing so) then you would know that she has someone else play guitar for her.
