I'd like to think that growing up with deafmute parents has given me a different perspective in life. My Dad is a chef & artist at the Manila Peninsula Hotel for more than 25 years, and he's practically a celebrity there - an icon of sorts! People look up to him and respect him because of the tremendous talent and exceptional character he has shown. That's probably one of the main reasons why I took up Hotel and Restaurant Management in College. I've always loved my father and imagined being in his shoes despite all the shortcomings. Unfortunately, as I grew up, I felt that I had a different longing, a different calling. I devoted all my extra time into computers and found out that I preferred it above everything else. I chose a different path. Not the one I thought life chose for me.

Now that I'm in Dubai, I think it's great that I can get erstwhile education while working for my family back home. I am currently taking every chance possible to broaden my knowledge about computers, and someday encourage people with disabilities to use a computer as a medium of communication - something that can be used to get in touch with people from different parts of the world... a chance to communicate with someone miles away even if they cannot hear a thing! This is how nature compensates. This world - no matter how harsh and cold, still has a lot of gifts to offer... I'm just hoping I can discover even just one!
