Torture: The Shrew's Fiddle

The wooden shrew's fiddle was used in Germany and Switzerland until 1888. It was usually used when two women were fighting
between each other and the husbands had had enough. Each woman would sport the fiddle which could then be locked together.
The women remained locked in that fashion until they worked out their differences.
The iron shrew's fiddle was used in the U.S. until 1865 when slavery was abolished.
