For the last eight years, Xscape have been bringing a touch of soul to the airwaves. Their unique brand of r'n'b has brought about such classics as "Understanding", "Feels So Good" and "My Little Secret". Their remake of "Who Can I Run To" was an unforgettable number one smash back in 1995, and they have contributed their beautiful harmonies to such hits as "Keep On Keepin' On" by MC Lyte, and "Always Be My Baby (So So Def Remix)" by the legendary Mariah Carey.
Xscape decided to split in late 1998, to work on their own solo projects. This split may not be permanent though, and they may release another group album in the future. All four members are making an impact on the industry on their own at the moment. Kandi spent most of 1999/2000 writing for other artists, and the hits she has written include "Bills Bills Bills" and "Bug A Boo" for Destiny's Child, "X-Girlfriend" for Mariah Carey, and "Best Man" for Faith Evans. She now has her own solo album called "Hey Kandi", fuelled by the hit single "Don't Think I'm Not". Tiny has also been writing material, and between them Kandi & Tiny wrote the huge hit "No Scrubs" for TLC. LaTocha released two solo songs in 1998/99, and also a duet with Chanté Moore and another with a new singer called J-Shin. Tamika is currently at work on a gospel album.
