This Christian hair band got its start in 1983 with brothers Michael Sweet (vocals) and Robert Sweet (drums).  It also included Oz Fox (guitarist) and bassist Timothy Gaines.  Wearing there yellow and black they released there debut "The Yellow And Black Attack."  Before the release of 1985's "Soldiers Under Command" Tim Gaines was replaced by Matt Hurich.  There 3rd album "To Hell With the Devil" only went to #32 on the charts.   On there next album "In God We Trust" Brad Cott was playing bass for them.  It was only on the charts for 5 weeks at #32 too.  The orginal bass player, Tim Gaines, rejoined the band for the recording of "Against the Law" in 1990.  It didn't do so well.
In 1992 Michael Sweet had left the band and released a few solo albums.  Oz Fox and Tim Gaines now has a new band called "SinDizzy."
The original Stryper members did reunite in 2001 for a few live shows.
