Australia's series loss in South Africa and good wins by India over Pakistan and England has taken India to within 300 points of Australia. Continued good form in the series against England could see India move into the top spot at the next rankings update although Australia will also have a series in Bangladesh to try to regain some lost ground.
Other improvers near the top of the table were New Zealand who beat the West Indies comprehensively, Sri Lanka, who took a couple of games of Australia in the VB Series, and Bangladesh who consolidated 9th spot after taking a game off Sri Lanka in their three match series before thumping Kenya 3-0.
There were a number of tournaments between teams at the lower end of the table. Maldives won the South East Asian Emerging Nations tournament for the second year in a row, beating Thailand and Bhutan. Suriname won the Americas Third Division tournament, beating Turks & Caicos Islands, Chile and Brazil. A crowd of 10,000 in Kuwait saw Bahrain beat an improved Afghanistan in the final of the Middle East Cup. And Belize won the inaugural Central American championships, beating Mexico and Costa Rica, both of whom appear in these rankings for the first time.
