Sri Lanka were the big casualties of this quarter. Having sat at 2nd or 3rd in the rankings since June 2004, they crashed to 7th after a comprehensive series loss to India. Australia's last game lapse against New Zealand saw it drop below 5000 for the first time this year and are slowly moving back towards the pack.
The only game between non-test nations included in these rankings was a one-off match where Namibia downed surprise world cup qualifiers Bermuda. While Namibia gained 24 points at the expense of Bermuda, neither team changed its position in the rankings.
