October 2002:

The officers who wished to enter in this competition had exactly one month to complete their entries, which entailed anything from pictures, stories to poems. The judges were Kelly Jericho and Beth Braynick who judges the entries on their creativity and had no knowledge as to who submitted them.

My toes touch sand
       I walk alone
My heart beats loud but slow
I feel no sorrow
       Pain or woe
No cloud will billow or round me roll.

A voice falls down
       Brushes mine ear
So sweet it's gentle and tender kiss
With words of comfort
       "Worry not"
This day shall make the list.

Another one's life
       Been promised to me
A joyous moment to touch and mold
A hand so small
       It's lost in mine
It's breath a story yet to unfold.

What price we pay
       For less than this
What measure may we afford
When looking back
       'cross fjords of time
It's you that matters ere my little one.

Oh pleasant word
       Whisper to me
And bear the news "Her time has come!"
My arms shall swell
       And cover you
My chest holds you forever, home.

No night to dark
       Shall ever be
No mountain road to high to scale
Child of my child
       Your name shall see
The fruits of labor that's passed though me.

" Corrigans Planet "
(Sung to the tune of Gilligans Island)

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a mighty ship,
that started from this dry dock aboard this mighty ship.

The Captain was a mighty sailin' man, the Commander brave and sure.
Nine crew members set sail that day for a 3 month mission, a 3 month
mission.

The mission started getting rough, the mighty ship was rocked. If not
for the valor of the courageous crew, the Avenger would be lost.

The ships aground on the surface of this uncharted "M" class planet.
With Corrigan, and Levi too, the Engineer and the Science, the Helm and the Meds and the rest are here on Corrigans Planet!!!
