The evil shamaness who wanted Xena to use her dark side, manipulated Xena into killing Cyane, Queen of the Amazons, in doing so Xena ultimatly condemned the amazons from crossing over into eternity.  Years later Alti would come back to try and take the soul of Xena's unborn child, she failed.  Alti will always be there fighting against Xena, no matter what.
