BOOKS/JOURNALS FOR BEAD RESEARCH
Wyoming Tumblebeaders has a lending library for members, which includes issues of various magazines
and books. For those interested in the history and making of beads, we have copies of:
"Classification and Nomenclature of Beads and Pendants" by Horace Beck (the original 1928 Archaeologia publication
and the later reprint)
"A Handbook on Beads" by W.G.N. van der Sleen
"The History of Beads" by Lois Sherr Dubin
"The Universal Bead" by Joan Mowat Erikson
and
"The Bead Journal" from 1974 through 1978. These issues have many
wonderful articles on Venetian beads, early trade beads, storing and displaying beads, and much more.
The Bead Journal was the forerunner to "Ornament"

On our links page, we have several sites listed that are involved in bead history and research,
including Wyomings own "Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum" featuring the John E. Weida
Trade Bead Collection, one of the most important bead collections in the Rocky Mountain west.
