The Wind

The wind died with you, when you went away
The Birds were silent, the trees were still,
The People had nothing to say

The day you went away, there was stillness in the air
The Birds were quiet, The Tress unmoving,
The People didn’t care

The Wind took notice, stopped its flight, and mourned at the terrible loss
The Birds wouldn’t sing, the Trees quivered in pain
And the People wondered at the cause

The Wind died with you my friend, the day you fled this Earth
The Birds cried out, the Trees shook with rage
And the People questioned your worth

And then somewhere a baby cries, and life begins anew
The Birds are singing, the Trees rejoice, The People forget,
but the Wind it died with you
