The Sacrafice

The Wizard stands atop the hill
Casting an ancient spell
He sacrafices "Love and life and light"
At the edge of "The Magic Well"

"The People" are safe, now none may harm
For they dwell now behind "The Veil"
A horn cries out, he looks up in alarm
His time to die is close at hand, a fate he knew too well

The army comes and still he fights
With every dying breath
He has cursed himself and "His Love"
"From this life to the next"

The sacrafice was not in vain
For "The People" they live on
Had they died so would have "The Earth"
Without their "Growing" song

The only grace to he and his love
Is down through the years
They may hold each other for a short time
To sooth the others fears

A day will come when the veil is lifted
And "The People" rejoin "The Race"
The lovers will then be reunited
For all eternity they will then face
