This site is dedicated to the preservation of the unique North Wales countryside from the  threat of unchecked, rural wind power station development..The western edges of the UK, in particular the Celtic fringes of Wales and Scotland have become a dumping ground for wind power stations and potential development sites which are the main weapon in  the UK's governments ill conceived alternative energy strategy.
People Against Corwen/Cerrigydrudion Turbines..PACT, Is a new campaign group FOR  a sensible  environmentally sensitive sustainable energy strategy which combines serious committment to energy conservation; off-shore wind power, tidal, solar, biomass and other renewable energy sources but, campaigns passionately AGAINST the senseless, indiscriminate siting of  wind power plants in our rural areas.
We absolutely reject the industrialisation of our local hills and welcome anyone who shares our ideals and values to join us in our fight to protect our fragile uplands and develop a sensible alternative energy strategy.

The destruction of Mid Wales has continued apace with recent planning applications going through their planning applications with remarkable ease considering the outrage which has been generated by these totally inappropriate developments. The Cwm Croes development in the Cambrian mountains has given the area the unfortunate position of  having Europes highest concentration of wind power stations. In North Wales greedy developers have jumped on the bandwagon and are only too willing to cover the uplands of Denbighshire,Gwynedd and Conwy with ugly wind farms. This site hopefully will make a minor contribution in fighting  the wind energy  industry myths and hopefully help those who are unsure of the technology and its implications into understanding the REAL issues and effects on our landscapes from unbridled wind turbine development.

It's never too late to send letters of objection to local developments. Please state that you are 'objecting' to a specific development and not just 'concerned'.Only letters which clearly state 'objection' are recognized by the planning departments.

Braich Ddu approved !
The contoversial Braich Ddu wind farm with its massive 300' turbines was approved unamimously by the planning committee of Gwynedd County Council.Gwynedd's first mainland wind farm.
Despite this setback, campaingners throughout the area vowed to continue the battle against the industrialsation of our precious uplands and the plundering of our heritage !
Coming soon.....three 300' turbines to be planted on unspoilt
uplands between Glan yr afon and Cynwyd.

Tir Mostyn....construction begins
A typically wet Welsh winter is perhaps not the best time to begin constructing a 25 turbine wind farm. However,on a bleak, dank day in early December, the heavy plant machinery was brought in to begin constructing the Tir Mostyn wind farm.Three years after planning permission was granted ?
We fully expect that the local environment will suffer terribly from this ill conceived ,and ill judged winter construction.
Our supporters will be monitoring the situation on a daily basis and recording images to show the wider world just how destructive wind-farm construction is.
Cerrig schemes defeated !
In late November,Conwy CC planning department unanimously voted against the Cwm Pennaner Wind-Farm and forced developer Huw Smallwood to withdraw his Hafoty Uchaf P3
application. Moel Malogan P3 was narrowly passed.
