The Ross Report
(20/6/03)
Welcome to the first weekly Ross report. Every week, I'll give news on superstars, and current events in the WWE.
Firstly, injuries. All superstars appear to be fine. Rey Mysterio has recovered from some back agrevation on Raw, and Ultimo Dragon seems fine after re-injurying his back on Smackdown. We'll see if his back gets better on Raw this monday.
In other news, no one is aware of Triple H's where-abouts. Triple H has seemed to have vanished after winning his WWE Tornament match against Goldberg, last week on Raw. HBK however, made an abrupt apperance on Smackdown, by costing Rey Mysterio his match against the Undertaker. Apart from this, there has been no other sign of Evolution. Will they be back on Raw this monday? We'll have to wait and see.
Speaking of Triple H, he, along with Matt Hardy and Kurt Angle, are now in the quarter-finals of the tornament for the WWE Championship. I was really surprised at Matt. He's been wrestling better than I think I've ever seen him. Brock needs to focus more I feel, and perhaps having this monday off will do him good. As for Kurt, I feel his win had a lot to do with luck. If Ultimo Dragons back had not been injured, then who nows what would have happened. He showed great 'integrity', as he calls it, when Ultimo Dragon Angle slammed him on that chair. He's one of my favourites for the title.
This monday, Undertaker, Steiner, Rey Mysterio and Big Show will al be battling for those places in the quarter-finals. Undertaker seems meaner now then I think I've ever seen him. I was there monday when Ultimo Dragon got put through that table, and you could see Taker felt no remorse for what he did. Finally Vince has given him the match that he wants, and perhaps he'll be more considerate to other competitors from now on. Steiner seems dis-appointed with his two losses in the WWE so far. He shoudn't get so down about it in my opinion. They were both tag matches, so his loses may have been due to his partners. This was definately the case when him and Jericho teamed up last monday. We'' see if Steiner can defeat Taker this monday.
Rey Mysterio shows great potential, even though he lost on Smackdown. To go as long as he did against Taker, concidering how small he is, is just incredible. He will have to show similar talent this monday against Big Show. Big Show seemed great on Raw, in his tag match, but will he be able to keep down the speedy Mysterio? We'll see on Raw.
I found it quite entertaining on Smackdown when Goldberg left Vince in the tag match. Goldberg still seems angry about last monday when he lost to Triple H. Even though he's out of the tornament, I'm sure he'll be one of the first to get a title shot afterwards.
Thats all I've got to say about this week in the WWE. I'm looking forward to this monday, especially when this mystery stipulation match between Jericho, RVD and Kane goes down. I feel the stipulation will make all the difference to the outcome of this match. My next entry will be next friday, on the 27th. See ya then. JR
