World War II Remembered
Actors Who Served in World War II

When World War II broke out, many actors found themselves too old to join the service, or be drafted. Other actors spent the war years making movies...and money! However, there were a lot of actors in Hollywood that did serve in the military.

It's these actors that I admire and honor here today. They gave up lucrative contracts making movies to serve beside their fellow man in war. Many made the supreme sacrifice, still others were haunted for years, suffering from Post Traumatic Syndrome (known as "shell shock" back then). Their stories are both interesting and moving.

Actors with their name in red are what I consider "Honorable Mention". They might not have served in WWII, but they did serve their country in other ways. Therefore I have added them to this list.
