In the southern mountains of West Virginia, there is a small town in the Greenbrier Valley called Ronceverte. It is a beautiful and peaceful country town with the scenic Greenbrier River flowing nearby. This is also the home base for the group called the West Virginia Bluegrass Connection.

In 1985 the West Virginia Bluegrass Connection was formed. Over the past 15 years they have recorded 10 albums, received numerous awards, and have open the shows for some of Bluegrass's biggest names.

In 1994 , they received an Achievement Award for Outstanding Performance at the Virginia State Fair. This award was only the third to be issued in the history of the fair.
In 1998 , they received the Distinguished West Virginia Awards from Governor Cecil Underwood.

On August 22, 1998, they open the grandstand show at the West Virginia State Fair for Alison Krauss and Union Station, Del McCoury, and Seldom Scene. This was the first time a local band had performed on the grandstand during the state fair. They have also performed at most of the main attractions around the area. Virginia State Fair, Summersville Bluegrass Festival, and the Mountain State Forest Festival just to mention a few. The group has got to perform with Dr Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys. Dr. Ralph Stanley said "they are a great bluegrass band and I am proud they stuck with the old traditional sound."  They have also opened for Johnny Paycheck, The Whites, The Lewis Family, Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys, Charley Waller, and The Country Gentleman
