Mitch Hupe - A perfect 300 game!!
On Sunday, November 23, 2008, Mitch Hupe became the youngest Manitoban to ever roll a perfect 300 game in our sport.  He accomplished this feat while rolling in his regular league at the Bowl Below centre on Mountain Ave.  And to top it off, they were incorporating a "Beat the Coach" event within their league session.  Needless to say, he soundly beat his coach!
Mitch is only 13 years and 9 months old.  This record will be tough one to beat!
                           CONGRATULATIONS MITCH !!!

The Daryl Dutchak Summer Classic - 1st Annual
Some History:
Daryl Dutchak, a well-known tenpin bowler here in Winnipeg, came up with the idea of holding a fun, tournament event, in the summer. And he wanted to hold it in a centre that many of us do not regularly bowl in - St. Joseph's Club, on Main St.  He decided to make it a team event, and he stressed that he wanted it to be FUN!!  He appointed  4 team captains, who then created their own 5-person teams.  Remember, St. Joseph's is a small 4-lane facility, so space was at a premium, and the atmosphere would be "cozy".
Format:
Each of the teams would bowl 3 games, and the teams who rolled the most over their combined averages (or the least UNDER their averages as it worked out), would bowl a two-game Baker-style match to determine the champion.  The Baker Games results were also based on the amount of pins that the teams were over or under their team average.
Results:
The two teams that made it to the finals were the Bowler Girlz (captained by Lynne Gauthier), and Team Slapout (captained by Mike Schmidt).
By a slim margin, Team Slapout emerged as the Champions.  The team members were Mike Schmidt, Jonathan Domingo, Robbie Scerbo, Stew MacKenzie, and Shauna Franchewski.
