The Woodside Terrace AM Kiwanis Club was
chartered in October, 1956, and has provided service to the Redwood City
Community since it's inception. We are a diverse group of men and women living
or working in Redwood City dedicated to improving the quality of life for our
community. Our philosophy is that together we can achieve what we cannot do as
individuals. Our group of committed volunteers
act locally to help solve global problems as well as local problems. Kiwanis
International's Worldwide Service Project commits us to raise $75,000,000.00 to
fight Iodine Deficiency Disorder which aflicts over 1.5 billion people and
causes brain damage and mental retardation. We've participated in
Project Read with the Redwood City Library to teach ALL to read; donated money
and canned food to Sister Monica at St. Francis Place; helped Salvation Army at
Christmas time ringing bells to raise money for our needys, support 2nd Harvest,
worked with the Service League to aid released prisoners to get back on their
feet, support Hope House to assist former drug addicted woman turn their life
around, helped the Diabetes Society raise money at Tour de Cure, raise money by
staging the annual Silicon Valley Bowl Game and assist physically challenged
students compete at Special Games, sponsor Little League baseball teams, AYSO,
Pop Warner Football teams, support KAINOS , give tea parties for the Seniors
living at Hopkins House to brighten their day, grant $12,500 annually in college
scholarships to students graduating from Sequoia and Woodside High Schools,
support HIP to provide housing, worked with Habit for Humanity to build more
needed housing for the low income families, support California Parks
Ministry,Meals on Wheels, PAL, YMCA, etc. |
