How great it would be for all the church members to have a place they could find great christian books to better there knowledge of the Scriptures, the love of God, apologetics, etc...  That is the idea with the library in the church.  There are no real bookstores in Tacna, let alone Christian bookstores, so the church members do not have much more of a selection than the books that they come across.  We would like it if short-term teams, missionaries, or just people who want to bless this project, would get good spanish books to better knowledge of the Christians here in Tacna.  There is a list of books wanted in Amazon, click here, and a list of books recieved, click here.
The comedor is a project to help feed to poor children and eventually provide food for the community at a cheap price.  The idea is to began with one in Ciudad Nueva and now it has also begun in Nueva Jerusalen.  With $1 a day we can provide lunch, the most important meal in the Peruvian culture, for one child. Our current goal is to provide 100 children with lunch.  With more committments we will eventually be able to provide more meals everyday for more children, and later families.  Because of a lack of resources we currently are only able to provide breakfast twice a week.  With the communities so poor, the people want to see tangible proofs of God's love.  (James 2:14-20).

Animal & Crop Farm
This idea has a long way to go.  We don't know where exactly we are going with this idea, but we know that there is a lack of water in Tacna and any recycling process would better the vegetation, environment, and poverty of the people.  This idea came to me after two years of not seeing many trees, plants, etc.  I thought it would be good to make a home water recycling system to provide the community with a way to water plants and crops on the own property without spending money or wasting water.  We would like to speak with knowledgeable people about this to better the idea and make it practical.
This is a multi-faceted idea which will have many benefits on many levels.  What we would like to do is buy a large lot of land (or 2) in order to reproduce many animals, and to harvest many different crops.  The farm would provide many jobs for different people, especially members of the church.  In addition to jobs, there would be enough food to support the feeding program, and maybe even sell some for profit to support other community help projects.  There is even a possible idea to begin a broasted chicken restaurant, which is very popular here, and with the animals and crops we would be able to provide good quality food and a better price.  All profits would go toward helping the community and showing the love of God in a tangible way,.

All ideas and projects are continually changing based on how the Spirit teaches us and reveals to us what He wants.  As of now only the feeding program and the library are in their firsts steps thanks to God for some donations that were made.  If you are interested in supporting or providing information to better the ideas, please contact me, Brian Ridenour, at wt4god98@yahoo.com.

Projects
$365 yearly per child
Each year students are given a list of supplies they must buy in order to recieve their public education.  And there are many families whose children simply are not all allowed to study due to poverty.  With donations for educational scholarships we would be able to provide the basic supplies in order for the child or teenager to study.  The scholarships would be given to families who live in poverty to those whom recieved passing grades, and we would like to begin the first year with at least 50.

House
To be able to minister better to the people here, and get around from point A to point B, it is necessary to have an automobile.  Also, we would like to have a house so that we can wisely use money and not give it away in renting.  The house would serve a long-term purpose, because after God calls us out of Tacna the house will be available to any pastor or worker and their family to live in.
