Inter Milan will have to do without goal machine Hernan Crespo
for three months, but will be relieved that it is not for
longer.
The Argentine striker, who is the Champions League`s joint top
scorer with AC Milan`s Filippo Inzaghi after netting nine goals,
injured himself in Sunday`s 2-0 Serie A win over Modena when he
lost his balance and fell.
Inter feared the worst, but tests have revealed the 27-year-old
will not need surgery on his damaged thigh.
A statement from the club said: "The test results have been more
comforting than we had initially thought they would be and have
shown an injury to the adductor longus tendon and a
second-degree strain to the adductor magnus.
"This injury will not need surgery, thus, it can be assumed that
Crespo will return to play in the second part of the second half
of the season." |
