"Silly, Simple, Off-Truths"
by
Ryan Cofrancesco

I'm glad I'm not a mime
for if I were I'm
Quite sure I'd
eat a lime

But who would eat lime
Just to make rhyme?
That would not be
Good poetry.

AND

"I'll climb that tree," says a squirrel
To the TV lady who says, "Pass the dime"
To sell to you a little long distance time.
Then she gave the dime a twirl.

But, why talk about a critter
Who's covered up in fur?
This could be bad, I'm quite sure.
It would make poetic litter.
