In my mind's eye,
The things never seen in reality.
The color of a sigh,
All things are pleasing to me.

In my mind's eye,
No wars will ever start.
There will never be a lie.
Only truth, from heart to heart.

In my mind's eye,
Love seems to be everywhere.
And we will all want to try
For each other to care.

In my mind's eye,
Things like jealousy are dead.
The vultures of hate can't fly.
And all the hungry are fed.

But when I open my eyes
To the real world around me,
A nasty surprise!
Let misery astound me.

This reality I find,
Leaves wounds on my soul.
My mind's eye goes blind
My heart has a hole.

In my mind's eye,
I look for a time when all is beauty
And no one can buy
My soul's one, true duty.
