A PAGE FROM MY LIFE

Some scribbled, some damp with tears,
some replete with exclamation points
and underlines for fears,
the pages of my life.
Turn them one by one, and take them out.
They're about the happenings,
the good and the bad,
the glad and the sad,
and they are gone.

But one remains.
When done, what writs will it contain?
What fits and starts might well upturn
the cart of last year's passings?

As ever, all remains to be seen,
labor and love, storm and strife,
on this the remaining day of my life.
