MATURITY

One thing that I know for sure
I never want to be mature
It is not good to fuss and ponder
When so much fun awaits out yonder.

Sensible I was at forty-five,
Not much enjoyment, hardly alive,
Wise decisions had to be made,
Fearful and anxious, sometimes afraid.

Now an old lady, I'm laughing so much,
Silly and smiling, joyful and such,
Life is too short, it's a wonderful treasure,
I fill it with love, laughter and pleasure.
