Eddie Guerrero was truly born to be a wrestler. From the very beginning growing up in El Paso, Texas Eddie was surrounded by wrestling. His father, Gory, was a legend of Mexican wrestling, a former Rookie of the Year, twice Luchador of the Year and holder of two Mexican National singles titles, three NWA singles titles and one Americas tag title as well as being the innovator of the Camel Clutch. Playing with his brothers Mando, Hector and Chavo usually meant flying off the ropes of the ring in their back yard.

By the time he was 19, after eight years of amateur wrestling, Eddie began working with the Mexican wrestling promotion EMLL (Expresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre) honing his skills not only in the traditional high flying lucha Libre style, but also on the mat. His well rounded style led him to the WWA World Trios title with his brother Chavo and Mando in 88 and WWA World Welterweight title in 92 and made him a great match for any opponent.

In EMLL Eddie wrestled masked under the name of Mascara Magica. After five years, he left to join the newly formed AAA promotion. In addition to leaving behind his old promotion, he decided it was also time to leave behind the old persona and on AAA TV, he became to first Mexican wrestler ever to voluntarily unmask. Rather than participating in what could have been a very lucrative mask vs mask match, Eddie explained to the onlooking crowd that Mascara Magica was not someone he had ever wanted to be and that it was something that had been forced on him by his former promotion and it was time to just be himself. As the stunned crowd looked on, Mascara Magica removed his mask to unveil Eddie Guerrero. He had revived his fathers famous tag team of La Pareja Atomica with El Hijo del Santo (The son of Gory's tag team partner from the 60's Santo) when Oregon native son "The Love Machine" Art Barr convinced him to turn on Santo and form La Pareja del Terror, later and better known as Gringos Locos with him. In no time they were considered among the top rudo (lucha term for heel) duos in wrestling. While many found the pairing strange at first, Guerrero being a pure wrestler and Barr more of a showman , the two soon showed they could make the combination work, even excel, as they captured the AAA Tag Team titles. On November 4, 1994 Gringos Locos lost a hair verses mask match against Eddie's former partner El Hijo del Santo and Octagon in Los Angeles, CA in the first ever American lucha libre PPV "When Worlds Collide" that was co- promoted by AAA and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). It would turn out to be their final match. On November 23, while napping with his young son, Art died in his sleep from unknown causes. Eddie not only lost his tag team partner, but his best friend.

Shortly after Barr's death, Guerrero left AAA for Philadelphia's Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Although his tenure in ECW was short, it is remembered fondly by most ECW fans. Eddie quickly became embroiled in a feud over the TV Title belt (he held it twice) with "The Shooter" Dean Malenko. Although their wrestling styles different greatly from the "extreme" style ECW was so well known for, Malenko and Guerrero quickly earned the respect and admiration of the crowds with their now legendary displays of pure wrestling. Their two out of three fall and 30 minute time limit draw matches were very nearly clinics of holds, reversals, maneuvers and skill.

Seven months after his premier in ECW, due to a working agreement with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), Guerrero was forced to leave ECW. Eddie had been honing his skills in Japan as well for the past few years against the like of Wild Pegasus (Chris Benoit), and Jushin "Thunder" Lyger, and teaming up with The Great Sasuke to snag the NJPW Junior Heavyweight Super Grade Tag titles. In Japan he worked first under his real name and then later as masked wrestler Black Tiger. In 1996 he won the NJPW Top of the Super Juniors tournament as Black Tiger.

In their final match in ECW, Malenko and Guerrero wrestled a best of three falls match, splitting the first two wins and simultaneously pinning each other for a draw in the third and left the ring accompanied by a standing ovation from the crowd. Something rarely seen in the sport.

In 1995 Guerrero took to the ranks of WCW. He has twice been Cruiserweight Champion and once the United States Champion. He has played the role of the victimized face in feuds with the likes of Diamond Dallas Page, yet it is Eddie the heel, serenaded by choruses of "Eddie Sucks" chants from the crowds that has truly caught fire. He once again found himself butting heads with Dean Malenko and former AAA opponent Rey Misterio Jr. (the two wrestled to what most consider the 1997 Match of the Year in a Belt vs. Mask match at Halloween Havoc) and even his own nephew Chavo Jr.

Eddie created the LWO to combat Eric Bischoff. He got several luchodores to join, including Rey. Rey was unwilling to join, so Eddie beat him in a "lose and join the LWO" match. Rey lost and joined.

Konnan began to protest about the LWO, but before that angle could grow, Eddie was involved in a violent car crash.

On New Year's eve 1998, Eddie fell asleep at the wheel, crashed, flew through the sunroof and landed on a pile of sand. An extremely odd series of concidences was what kept the crash from being fatal. However, his hip was broken.

Eddie returned in early 1999 and went straight for the ex-LWO. He started a feud with the ICP/Vampiro/Raven group with Rey and Konnan on his side. They soon recruited Kidman and Torrie Wilson, and The Filthy Animals were born. They started a feud with the Deadpool and later The Revolution, until by a freak accident, all wrestling members of the group were injured.

Eddie never returned to WCW from that injury. Several changes were made in the WCW front office and backstage in early 2000, which Eddie disliked. He requested his release and it was granted, and he exited WCW in late January. On January 31, 2000, Guerrero debuted in the WWF along with other WCW "walkouts" Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko.

He now has gone apart from the rascalz, even fought his friend perry saturn. He now comes out with his valet, Chyna. She is his Mamacita.
